It comes just a few weeks after Aspire Global was handed a fine of SEK3m from Swedish regulator Spelinspektionen for failing to adhere to self-exclusion regulations in the country.

AG Communications, a Swedish-facing subsidiary of Aspire Global, said that its failure to integrate self-exclusion system Spelpaus.se from 1 January was down to a technical fault – one that was it was able to rectify just two weeks later.

Unfortunately, problems persisted which left Spelinspektionen to conclude that AG Communications had not properly adhered to its strict regulations until 8 February, more than five weeks after integration should have been completed.

However, the regulator opted against revoking the licence, choosing instead to issue the fine with an official warning after accepting that AG Communications had taken action over the matter and conversed with them during the process.
