Gambling harm-minimisation consultancy EPIC Risk Management has hired Sky Betting and Gaming’s Pete Wallis who will be tasked with continuing to develop the firm’s growth strategy.

As part of the new role, Wallis will oversee the creation of programmes that identify and intervene with customers that are experiencing gambling related harms both online and in retail.

Commenting on his appointment, Wallis emphasised: “I’m passionate about making gambling safer and fairer and EPIC really are leading the way on this. I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with this great team and really continue to drive innovation and change in the Industry.”

During his time at Sky Betting and Gaming, Wallis led the development of safer gambling training programmes. Having also previously held successful careers in both the military and the gambling industry, Wallis is hoped to draw upon his extensive experience in the new role. 

He is set to work alongside the current management team to direct operations in all high risk sectors that EPIC work – financial services, elite professional sport, education, the criminal justice sector and the gambling industry direct with particular emphasis on current contracts with Kindred Group, Sky Bet and the ‘Changing for the Bettor’ campaign that GVC launched earlier this year.
