Online lottery operator Lottoland has been granted two licences by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in South Africa.
The licences – the operator’s 11th and 12th, globally – comprise a bookmakers licence to offer fixed-odds betting contingencies to South African players; and a manufacturing licence to develop and use the company’s proprietary software for business operations.
Lottoland’s South African website www.lottoland.co.za is now live, offering players in the country the opportunity to bet on the outcome of more than 30 lotteries from around the world. This will be the first time that residents of South Africa can play the US Mega Millions and the Powerball, or the European jackpots.

The manufacturing licence means Lottoland’s B2B division, Lottoland Solutions, can partner with licensed African bookmakers that seek to offer similar international jackpots to their existing customer base.
