Asia focused developer, owner and operator of casino gaming and entertainment Melco Resorts and Entertainment, has attained a record-breaking number of 85 stars in the 2019 Forbes Travel Guide.

Awarded across it portfolio of properties, including thirteen five-star and five four-star, with its Altira Macau hotel achieving top ranking for the tenth consecutive year.

Most notably Nüwa Macau at Melco’s City of Dreams remains the first and only property in Asia to receive FTG five-star across its entire portfolio of hotel, spa and dining facilities, while Studio City is honoured for the first time as a triple category FTG five-star property.

Lawrence Ho, chairman and chief executive officer of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, explained: “Attaining this level of recognition from Forbes Travel Guide has tremendous significance to us as a company, and to myself personally. We are delighted to see every property at Melco’s integrated resorts being awarded with the most prestigious FTG five-star recognition.

“Forbes Travel Guide star awards hold as much relevance to our team members as they do to our guests, and is ongoing proof of Melco’s commitment to excellence and relentless enthusiasm for creating exceptional and memorable experiences.

“I would like to express my deepest appreciation to every one of our hospitality professionals for their hard work dedicated to making Melco Asia’s leading integrated resort operator.”

This follows comments made by Ho yesterday, where he stressed that the organisation is keen to bring its unique vision to Japan’s yet to be launched integrated resorts market: “Japan continues to be a core focus for us. We expect development of the next generation of integrated resorts to soon commence in this incredibly exciting, yet currently underpenetrated, tourism destination.

“With our focus on the Asian premium segment, high quality assets, dedication to world-class entertainment offerings, market-leading social safeguards and compliance culture, and our commitment to being an ideal partner to local governments and communities alike, we believe Melco is in a strong position to help Japan realise the vision for integrated resort development with a unique Japanese touch.”
