Mobile first games provider Hacksaw Gaming has lauded “huge growth” since launch in September 2018, with the developer continuing this further still after securing UK entry.

This is via the Malta-based firm being granted regulatory approval to launch in the region after receiving a UK Gambling Commission supplier licence.

Through the receival of the green-light Hacksaw is to offer its scratchcards to players throughout the jurisdiction for the first time.

Besides gaining entrance into the UK market, Hacksaw has also recently announced the release of its first slot game titled Stick ‘Em!, with the retro themed slot launched last month to all of the firm’s partners.

Marcus Cordes, COO at Hacksaw Gaming, commented on the licence approval: “This is a huge step for us as a company, the UKGC is known to have strict regulations to comply with so having the licence granted to us represents a significant milestone.

“In just under a year we have managed to secure both MGA and UKGC licenses and this is just the start. Our sales team will now be focusing on branching out to UK based customers and gaining as much exposure as possible to reach as many players across the country.”

Earlier this year Cordes spoke to CasinoBeats regarding the current growth surrounding the scratchcard segment and the thinking behind a mobile-first strategy: “We feel that this segment was in need for a fresh new look. Scratchcards need to be added to players radars as they are also an easy way of winning big.

“Instant wins can be just as successful as slots, proof being that our first €100,000 jackpot was won in Germany, 24 hours after LeoVegas released the game.

“Data proves that the majority of online casino operators have large traffic coming from mobile so it makes sense to have the mobile first strategy. We design purely based on mobile interaction and have seen that our clients are recognising this.”
