Former Liga NOS side Leixões banned for two years
Opening up the weekday was a doubleheader from the football landscape. Firstly, Portuguese second division club Leixões was banned from the Liga NOS and LigaPro, Portugal’s top two football leagues, for two years following ‘active corruption’ allegations. Daniel Sturridge given four-month worldwide ban
The end of the day also announced that former Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge had been handed a four-month suspension from football. The ban was in relation to his previous breach of the FA’s betting rules in 2017, with the FA deeming the original six-week ban too lenient. Click to read more

PGA Tour chips in on Golfbet app
Following yesterday’s football news, PGA Tour announced a collaboration with The Action Network, creating a new betting-content application, GolfBet. The PGA Tour will provide the platform with a variety of content assets, including footage rights, video content, and official data along with the app creating written articles for golf punters. Chinese side Tianjin Tianhai available for free
As the working week was slowly coming to an end, Chinese Super League side Tianjin Tianhai unexpectedly broke the news that the club’s owners would be willing to sell the team for free. Mybet partners with German ice hockey league following financial revival
The sporting business industry ended on a happy conclusion as mybet, a bookmaker close to liquidation, has partnered with the German ice hockey league Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) for its play-off knockout phase. In 2018 mybet was forced into administration following a spoilt buyout which saw the company become insolvent. However, after a last-minute settlement the brand has started to gain traction, leading to the DEL deal. Click to read more
