Churchill Downs Incorporated-owned sportsbook BetAmerica will rebrand as TwinSpires this year. The brand transition will commence with the anticipated launch of the TwinSpires online sportsbook and casino into Michigan later this month, pending final regulatory approval.

TwinSpires, Churchill Downs Incorporated’s pari-mutuel wagering business since 2007, is an industry-leading advance-deposit wagering operator offering online and mobile betting on US and international horse racing.

The brand is backed by Churchill Downs, home of the world-famous Kentucky Derby, and nearly 150 years of wagering history.

Ian Williams, President of Online Gaming, Churchill Downs, explained the rationale behind the rebrand, saying: “Pursuing a single brand strategy allows us to maintain focus on integrating our horse racing wagering platform alongside our sports betting and igaming business, which will provide our players with the ultimate online and mobile betting experience.”

The switch to a new brand, said the firm, will not alter the customer experience for current TwinSpires horse players who will continue to experience the same mobile and desktop product, promotions and customer service.

Existing BetAmerica online players can continue to utilize the BetAmerica platform as normal before a seamless migration to TwinSpires in the first half of 2021. The company’s mix of retail and online sportsbooks that will transition to the TwinSpires brand are currently available in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Mississippi, Michigan and Colorado.
