Online gaming content provider Yggdrasil is set to enter the Greek market after being granted a supplier licence by the Hellenic Gaming Commission.

The licence enables the company to launch its games portfolio to Greek players under the country’s newly revised online gaming regulations, including titles featuring Yggdrasil’s proprietary Game Engagement Mechanics. Products from the supplier’s YG Masters programme are also on offer, providing exclusive content from third-party studios.

“It goes without saying that Yggdrasil is yet again walking the talk and we continue to deliver on our regulatory market strategy,” commented Björn Krantz, chief of global market operations at Yggdrasil. “To obtain the Greek licence, and to capitalise on our ISO/IEC27001 accreditation is yet another milestone and achievement from the great team we have here at Yggdrasil.

“We would like to thank all local partners for their support in making a difference with Yggdrasil and our best-in-class portfolio of innovative games in Greece.”

The Greek licence was made possible by the company’s ISO/IEC27001 accreditation which it secured last year. Furthermore, the company has already partnered with a number of Greek operators with further details about the deals set to be announced over the coming months.

With the Greek online gaming market showing growth as new operators prepare to enter the country, the licence acquisition provides an opportunity for Yggdrasil to expand its footprint across Europe.
