The multinational casino and sports betting operator Codere has become the new official sponsor of the Club de Fútbol Monterrey Rayados from Mexico. The agreement will make the brand visible on the team’s jerseys until 2025.

The company will become the main sponsor of the Liga MX team from July 2021, when the Codere logo will appear on the team’s kits and jerseys. This will allow the operator to move forward in its international expansion and brand consolidation campaign, not only due to the visibility of the brand on the jersey, but also through different marketing and promotional actions that will be carried out with the Mexican club.

“This agreement represents an important commitment for the company in this strategic market to boost our gaming offering at the local level,” said Carlos Sabanza, Head of Sponsorships at Codere.

According to the company, which operates in two European and five Latin American countries, Mexico is “a key market” for its development given that at the end of 2019 it represented 22% of the group’s global revenues.

The Executive Vice President of Rayados, Pedro Esquivel, said: “It’s a pleasure for the team to start a relationship with an international brand like Codere, which will help us both to continue consolidating our growth and adhere to our goals. We believe in long-term alliances with business partners who share our values and objectives, and that’s why we thank Codere for their trust and we are sure that great things will come in the future.”

Alberto Telias, marketing Director at Codere, added: “The agreement with Rayados is an extremely exciting project. We believe that we have common brand values, which we want to exploit together.

“Partnering with such a successful and important team as Rayados, after a period where the pandemic affected the game – not only because venues had to close, but also because sports competitions had to be postponed at a global level – confirms the strong proposal that Codere has for Mexican players.”
