Following in the footsteps of fellow Premier League side Chelsea, Manchester City has signed a multi-year partnership with Mondelēz International which sees Cadbury become the club’s official snacking partner in the UK, China and United States among others.

The deal will see both entities focus on celebrating individuals and organisations that have supported local communities as they continue to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result Cadbury will present Man City’s ‘Cityzen of the Month’ in which fans can nominate people, community initiatives and local businesses.

Omar Berrada, Chief Operating Officer at Manchester City stated: “At Manchester City we are committed to helping our communities to recover from the pandemic, whether that be through our Cityzens Giving for Recovery global campaign or with great initiatives like this that we are looking forward to launching with Cadbury.

“We have been overwhelmed by the incredible efforts of City fans all over the world to support each other and we are delighted that Cadbury will be helping us to celebrate these achievements.”

Cityzen of the Month nominations will be celebrated across all of the club’s digital platforms with the winning entry also receiving 50 Manchester City squad branded Cadbury Dairy Milk bars. Additionally, the company will be offering Manchester City fans unique access to the club through a range of activities and promotions.

Samantha Greenwood, Global Brand Director at Cadbury, added: “Every person and business, in every community, plays a vital role in our economic recovery. Manchester City’s fan base and the Cityzens network enables us to shine a light on the incredible work that these individuals and businesses have been doing, and we hope to boost the contribution each plays on our journey to recovery from the pandemic.”
