Mr Vegas Casino has asserted confidence in its quest for market share, as the new gaming brand prepares to make it’s Nordic debut after being granted licence approval by the Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen.

The regulator granted the online gaming approval at the start of the month, in a move with saw Mr Vegas Casino become the 100th operator to be awarded on online gambling licence since the jurisdiction launched its re-regulated market at the turn of 2019. The licence approval permits the mrvegas.com and mrvegas.se URLs, and runs until January 31, 2026.

Alexander Stevendahl, CEO of the brand, and who spent five years pursuing the casino’s URL, said of the development: “We are super excited about Mr Vegas in Sweden and confident it will be an instant hit. 

“It is such a distinctive name too. I am confident it will become the casino of choice for Swedes in 2021’’.

Mr Vegas Casino promises to deliver “a fresh feel and bags of innovation,” with the casino adopting a mobile-first approach and vowing to incorporate “a growing number of player-friendly features”.

Ali Atam, CMO of Mr Vegas Casino, added: “We are not short of competition out there, but players are always looking for something new and I think they are going to like what we have in store for them. We can’t wait to launch the site in Sweden and see what people make of it!”

In November 2020, the Spelinspektionen reported that the Swedish market had recorded third quarter revenue of SEK 6.036bn (£526.68m), a 1.3 per cent increase year-on-year. Online casinos also increased to SEK 3.68bn (2019: 3.48bn), despite implementation of the controversial temporary loss limit of SEK 5,000 (£445).

At the end of the third quarter a little over 56,000 individuals were suspended for games via Spelpaus.se, representing an increase of almost seven per cent when compared with the previous quarter. By mid-November 2020, the number had increased to almost 58,000 people.
