PAOK FC has partnered with Insys Video Technologies to launch a brand-new version of its over-the-top (OTT) streaming service, PAOK TV, which will see the cloud-based service be run on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The new platform, built using InsysSport, will be available in English, Greek and Russian highlighting the club’s strategy to use the service to garner more fans internationally. Moreover, the subscription and pay-per-view service will allow fans to view its Super League Greece home games whilst also providing exclusive VOD content and special TV shows.

Panagiotis Aroniadis, PAOK TV Project Manager and PAOK FC New Media Director, FC PAOK, stated: “Last season PAOK TV disrupted football TV Rights in Greece, showing a new way to broadcast the matches and use new technologies, focusing on the future of television.

“Now with Insys Video Technologies and AWS on board, we decided to create a new OTT platform from the beginning so that we could become better, faster, and safer while offering a better user experience for our subscribers. #DareToDream is more than a motto for us”.

The new PAOK TV service will integrate a number of AWS Media Services such as AWS Elemental MediaConnect, a high-quality transport service for live video, and AWS Elemental MediaLive, a broadcast-grade live video encoding processing service.

Additionally AWS Elemental MediaConvert, a file-based video transcoding service with broadcast-grade features, and AWS Elemental MediaPackage, which reliably prepares and protects video for delivery over the Internet, will also be used due to its new agreement.

Jarosław Narojczyk, CBO, Insys Video Technologies, added: “Following the initial popularity of PAOK TV, the football club was keen to launch a new version of its platform. FC PAOK wanted to place a strong emphasis on improving the user experience for its fans, as well as delivering it to a wider range of platforms.”

The new platform will debut on Saturday August 8 ahead of the new Super League Greece campaign on September 12.
