Richard Kingscote, a prolific UK and Irish racing jockey and the reigning all-weather champion, has partnered with SBK, the sports betting app operated by Smarkets.

The agreement will remain in place until October 2022 and will see the jockey, who has amassed a total of 73 wins throughout his career, wear SBK branded riding gear over the next 16 months.

Kingscote appeared at Sandown racecourse wearing his SBK branded equipment and clothing on 11 June, securing another win on La Pulga, before securing a second win at Chester the following day with Roman Dragon.

“I’m thrilled to have SBK as my new sponsor, and I’d like to thank them for committing long-term until next autumn,” Kingscote remarked.

“I feel like I’m riding really well at the moment so hopefully I can continue picking up the winners, especially at Royal Ascot this week.

“SBK are clearly one to watch in the betting space with their unique focus on providing industry-leading odds and I can’t wait to start producing special content with them.”

Kingscote will be appearing at the Royal Ascot event this week, riding four different runners during today’s opening fixtures, including Regal Reality in the Group One Queen Anne Stakes, the first meeting of the week.

The latest professional jockey to take on a brand ambassador role with a sports betting operator, Kingscote follows in the footsteps of fellow champions Hayley Turner and Brian Hughes, who both signed sponsorship arrangements with online operator MansionBet.

Launched in 2019, SBK’s odds are taken from the Smarkets exchange, in which customers can take advantage of peer-to-peer betting and trading where odds move based on where users place their wagers, meaning there is ‘no built-in house edge’.
